Hate speech does not exist legally in America. There's ugly speech. There's gross speech. There's evil speech.
And ALL of it is protected by the First Amendment.
Keep America free.

A reminder that the First Amendment only means that the government can't censor you.
If your evil speech incites a negative response and consequences from your fellow citizens - up to and including illegal acts of violence - that has nothing to do with the First Amendment.
Any such consequences which are illegal are a wholly separate matter, and they get addressed in the courts. Robinson is going to be tried for murder; he is NOT going to be tried for infringement of First Amendment rights.
