Today is the first day this year I've really gotten my hands into the dirt of the garden: weeding, working peat moss into the soil, planting a bunch of cheap pansies from the grocery store. My struggling cherry tree is blooming valiantly, giving me hope that this year it might actually grow a little. Clara was with me all morning, doing her best to help.
