Jokes aside, I actually posit that Sortition electoral systems have a lot of potential - particularly when used in a multi-step nomination and selection system, which has tremendous power to combat factionalism and party politics.
We could also include a penciled in dot on one of them a la Shirley Jackson and stone someone too

I keep hearing pundits say, "Boy, I bet the eight who threw McCarthy out regret it now," and I keep wondering why they think that. Aren't they getting exactly what they want or think they want? They couldn't shut the government down, so they shut themselves down, and if they can keep doing that they eventually shut everything down. The happy eight!
Don't play bluff with them on the debt. Yes, they will default.
