So our country is running an enormous budget deficit and we have all sort of problems with health care and unemployment and aging infrastructure and all, and the only thing the two parties can agree on is cutting taxes. "So we'll make a budget compromise and cut taxes for both your people and our people." When was the last time a major, controversial bill passed the Senate 81-19?
As I have said, I am not stressed about the deficit in the short term, and I don't really mind this bill, but I think this performance bodes ill for our fiscal future.
