The World is Not a Mirror
Volodymyr Zelenskyy:
When Russia started this aggression, they looked at the world as if they were looking at themselves in a mirror. They thought that everyone in the world was cynical and despised people in the same way as the owners of Russia do. But the world is different – the world helps us protect life. And anyone who goes against the world will become marginal. Russia will gain nothing and lose everything. Glory to all who defend our state! Glory to all who help!
The man has a way with words, I'll give him that. (With the caveat of help from translation, of course.)
ReplyDeleteI am mainly fascinated by the idea that Putin and his cronies misjudged western Europe because they thought everyone was as corrupt as they were.
ReplyDeleteAgainst that you might set the idea that more important to Putin was a sense that the West was weak and corrupt and therefore unlike Russia.
ReplyDeleteThat's the thing about a Slavic civil war, it's a battle between brothers in the Hall of Broken Mirrors. When it comes to corruption though, the Kiev regime wins the prize.
