Romain Langlois

French sculptor Romain Langois wants so badly for you to know that he is "self-taught" that the phrase appears at least seven times on his web site (I counted). At least, he wants his English-speaking audience to know this; I couldn't find an equivalent phrase in the French sections. What does it mean?

Never mind! I think these are cool, with a strong vibe of early Andy Goldsworthy.

The bronze work below is also intriguing; the French text compares Langlois' work in bronze to alchemy, but I couldn't figured out what the connection was. My French is far from perfect but it isn't bad, and I suspect some sort of art-speak incomprehensible in any language.
