More Degrees

From 2000 to 2020, the population of the US increased by 17%, from 282 million to 331 million.

Meanwhile, the number of doctorates (Ph.D.'s, EdD's, etc)  increased by 125%, from 2 million to 4.5 million.

The number of Master's degree holders increased by 102%, from 10.4 million to 21 million.

The number of Bachelor's degree holders increased by 62%, from 29.8 million to 48.2 million.

I confess to being surprised that 1.3% of the US population has a doctorate.
