This portrait, a 17th-century copy of a lost Tudor original, was once thought to be a portrait of Mary Boleyn, the older sister of Anne Boleyn and at one time Henry VIII's mistress. Then in the late 1800s the identification was questioned and since then it has been cataloged as "Portrait of a Lady." Now some Dutch scholars have thrown a lot of science at it and they think the old identification was correct, and that
this is a copy of a lost Hans Holbein portrait of Mary. They think the copy is by Remigius van Leemput, who worked in the studio of Van Dyck.
