Alcohol is responsible for over one in 20 of all deaths worldwide, according to the most recent edition of a World Health Organization (WHO) report that comes out every four years. . . ."Are linked to" might be doing a lot of work here, but it is good to remember that alcohol is by far the most deadly drug.
According to the WHO data, approximately 7.2 percent of premature deaths worldwide are linked to alcohol, and as well as 5.3 of all deaths in general.
There is a whole bevy of reasons why I'm a teetotaler, but this is a pretty big one.
