SN 1987A at 30

Multi-spectral image of supernova remnant SN 1987A, an exploding star in the Large Magellanic Cloud whose light reached our planet thirty years ago yesterday. This multiwavelength composite shows dust (red), visible light (green), and ultra-hot gas (blue) from three space telescopes: ALMA, Hubble and Chandra, respectively.
