Augsburg Cathedral in southern Germany holds what are said to be the oldest stained-glass windows in Europe, dating to the late 11th Century. Others disagree and say they date to after 1132, but even if they are twelfth century they are still very early.
There are five early windows in the south clerestory, featuring King David (top), and the prophets Jonah (above), Daniel, Moses, and Hosea.
