Thank you for sharing this. I'd been unaware of this figure, and reading up on him now I'm a little surprised I've never come across his name before.
The synopsis of his life is fascinating, and reminds me that I ought to be mindful of the fact that only a few centuries ago you could be burned at the stake simply for believing that there are other planets, for employing mnemonic devices to improve your memory, and for not quite really believing that Jesus was a heavenly superperson rather than a human being.
