Maryland governor Larry Hogan married for the first time in his 40s, to a Korean woman with three daughters, now grown. As he
recently said,
We’re the first not-white family to ever live in the governor’s mansion. My son-in-law is Puerto Rican. I have a beautiful little granddaughter who is half Korean and half Latina. I’m the only white guy in the house.
It is people like the governor's half Korean, half Puerto Rican granddaughter who will define much of America's future: how they choose to see themselves, and how others choose to see them.
