Anglo-Saxon Treasures

Cavalry mount found at Blakeney, England, depicting Wotan. Dated to around 600 CE.

Anglian sword hilt found at Fetter Lane, London, dating to the eighth century.

Three disc-on-bow brooches, c. 550 to 600. This is a Scandinavian form and the presence of brooches like these in Britain shows close connections between the Anglo-Saxon elite and their homeland. All of these treasures are in the British Museum.
