The things still hidden in the closets of the Forbidden City.
LiveScience:
Researchers have recently published this dog outfit which was worn by a canine named "Big Luck" (in translation) who lived in China's Forbidden City during the reign of the Guangxu Emperor (AD 1875-1908). Made of silk and decorated with images of peonies it would have covered Big Luck from snout to tail and his name was even inscribed on the lining. Researchers say that royal dogs like Big Luck reportedly lived in pavilions with marble floors, sleeping on silk cushions while being waited on by eunuchs who were specially trained to care for them.
Peonies, incidentally, were symbols of good luck and prosperity, so this dog was seriously weighted down with luck.
