Mapping Local History

This 1877 map of East New Market on Maryland's Eastern Shore is a terrific way to present local history. The map is live, and if you click on any of the properties you get a page like this one:

If the house is still standing you also get a contemporary photo. Funny that all of the doctors in town lived in the same house. Tradition used to be a powerful thing.
