Xu Bing, The Phoenix Project

Twelve-ton birds made entirely from materials found at construction sites in Beijing. Now on display at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art.

I gather this is taken as a comment on China's past and present. Whatever they mean, they are certainly impressive.
