The $33 Million Carpet

This seventeenth-century carpet from Kirman in southeast Persia, known as the Clark Sickle-Leaf Carpet, had been in storage at the Corcoran Museum in Washington for decades. Short of money, they just sold it at auction for $33 million. More museums should sell the stuff they can't display.
