Chestnut Update

Last spring, twelve American chestnut trees, genetically modified to be resistant to chestnut blight, were planted at the New York Botanical Garden. So far, they are doing fine.

Meanwhile, the other team working to restore the chestnut, the folks who use old-fashioned cross-breeding, have made it their goal to plant one million of their trees.
