Cracks in the Republican Orthodoxy on Taxes

Michael Gerson, reliably conservative columnist/Republican propagandist, has endorsed Jeb Bush's suggestion of raising taxes as part of a bargain on the budget. Whether he would actually support a big enough tax increase to get Obama and Reid on board remains to be seen, but it this trickle of flexibility continues to grow, there may be some hope of a budgetary agreement next year.
