Walked down to the Patapsco River this morning with Ben, Clara, and Coraline.
As we arrived the dog scattered a dozen or so geese, including this family. The parents herded their little ones down the river and they plunged into the current, floating off through the rapids. The baby geese were impossibly cute as they floated along, but they were fleeing from the dog and in a hurry, so all I got was this long-distance shot. It occurred to me that the babies probably can't swim upstream in the river, so the river geese must move farther downstream every time they swim out into the current. No going back for them.
The kids threw rocks in the river, as kids always do.
And then dug in the sand for shells.
