Archaeology in Southern Maryland

I spent the day with my crew down in southern Maryland, not far from St. Marys City where the colony began. Above, setting up the first units on the site, with the St. Marys River in the background.

View up the river from down on the beach.

And on the beach, a gunflint made of English flint, well worn from a couple of centuries in the water.

Still life with brick fragment (lower right) and crab shell.
