If conservatives are looking for an image to celebrate Eisenhower's greatness, I suggest this one, perhaps with this quotation from Eisenhower's
speech on the occasion:
Mob rule cannot be allowed to override the decisions of our courts.
As I have said many times, Eisenhower hated grandstanding and liked to portray himself as a farm boy with old-fashioned values, but he could be very tough when he had to be. And he was not amused by the threat of southern governors to defy orders from Federal judges.
