The Nazca Lines are well known, but gigantic structures whose patterns can be perceived only from the air can be found in several parts of the world. Including the deserts of the Middle East, where dozens of new examples have been found lately by searchers using Google Earth. There are hundreds of wheel-shaped "geoglyphs" around Azraq Oasis in Jordan, estimated to be at least 2,000 years old.
Some of the shapes are simple, some complex. They range in size from 80 feet to 230 feet (25 meters to 70 meters) across.
Some look like buildings, but there is no evidence that they were, and they seem to be purely decorative.
