Let them Have their Civil War

Bing West, whose latest book on Afghanistan I reviewed here, has boiled down his message and is now saying,

Let the Afghans do their own fighting in their own civil war. . . . As long as we do it for them, they are not going to do it for themselves.

West also said recently that we are going to see a lot more countries getting nuclear weapons:

The lesson of Libya is, Get a nuclear weapon and tell everyone to go fuck themselves. Qaddafi got rid of his nukes and we said, 'OK, you're out of there.'
