A Volcano of Mud

The Lusi volcano on the Indonesian island of Java sprang to life in 2006, and the mud flowing from its crater has already engulfed whole villages in mud as much as 60 feet thick. A new study, based on measurements of underground temperature and stress, suggests it will keep on spewing mud for more than 20 years.
