Western Maryland, Today

We dug our bank cut unit down to the 5000-year-old layers, but, alas, this was a boring place between 5,000 and 2500 years ago. So we drew our final profile, which is what my crew is doing in this picture, backfilled the unit, took all the goodies we found it the top three feet and went home.

I took the scenic route home. The roads were lined with blooming redbud trees, and the scenery was as lovely as always.
