Eivør - Trøllabundin

Anyone for some weird, ethereal music sung in Faroese? Then let me introduce you to Eivør. These days she has transcended the Faroes and sings mostly sings in English to broader European audiences, but I like the earlier, weirder stuff better. See also here and here.

  1. I love her and Trollabundin! I also love that "Yeah, that just happened" look she gives when it's over (in this version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agAvAAv8FrU).

  2. Weird! I'm also already familiar with her work, AND I also already preferred the version David linked! Funny how coincidences work out sometimes.

I listen to a lot of "exotic" music, both traditional and modern. I think I originally got into the habit of listening to unusual music with Irish and Scottish (English Language) drinking songs, and it seems that ever since I've loved stumbling across less and less familiar music.

  3. I also listen to Sufi music sometimes but every time I do I get ads for Muslim charities and pleas for help from the starving people of Yemen or Mali or somewhere.

  4. @John

Well, there are fairly simple ways to block ads these days, but even having said that, ads for charities and food campaigns sound way better than ones for garbage consumer products we don't need.
