It was a long time since I read that, so I don’t remember the whys, but it explains the nature of this book in some ways.Thomashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09051024382193588456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8304928500646903522.post-21987862152290658162022-01-17T10:18:09.028-05:002022-01-17T10:18:09.028-05:00You may well be right. You clearly come down on the wonder side. I was ambivalent.Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01037215533094998996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8304928500646903522.post-68920572850053269152022-01-17T08:56:55.939-05:002022-01-17T08:56:55.939-05:00I loved Piranesi, largely because I liked the main...I loved Piranesi, largely because I liked the main character so much. He's got an absolutely inexhaustible supply of curiosity, wonder, ingenuity, and sweetness. And I always got the sense that the lovely descriptions of things came from him, were part of him and what he could see in things, not just Clarke's verbal ability. I knew there were puzzles about him and what was going on, but I never sensed them as things that were "off." My son recommended the book to me, in large part because he so liked the eponymous main character.Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14456987412710878404noreply@blogger.com
