Democrats can't get a big majority because older, whiter, more rural voters despise their cultural agenda."</i><br /><br />Fortunately, this is a self correcting problem. The more time passes, the fewer older, whiter, rural voters there will be.<br /><br />Deep down, many of them know this. That knowledge terrifies them, and that terror is what motivates them to try desperately to rewind the clock. But they're trying to beat back inevitability, and they can't win. And some of them even know that, but I suspect most of them don't care - if they're going to lose their place in the sun, they want to go out kicking and screaming the whole way.<br /><br />Someday people will look back and laugh at them the way the same way we might laugh at diehard monarchists or similar.
