I'll need to reread this, but upon first look his examples seem contrived and his argument directed at a rather small population of those who protest -- perhaps those with political-social ends. Most people most of the time don't think like this, nor are they that judgmental. They just see someone saying one thing and acting another but leave it alone because everyone does it to some extent. But when done by a person of influence in the very area he is found to be preaching one thing but doing another, they take exception precisely because of the influence the person has.
